The Auburn Tigers have missed out on landing one of Alabama's top prospects from the 2027 class.

Karlos May, a four-star defensive lineman from Ramsay High School in Birmingham, committed to Ohio State on Saturday afternoon on Rivals' official YouTube channel, choosing the Big Ten power over Auburn and Georgia.

Forecasts ahead of May's announcement showed Ohio State as the projected winner of the May sweepstakes on Saturday, as three Rivals' experts, including Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons, submitted projections favoring Ohio State last month. With May's pledge, Ohio State is now up to No. 7 in Rivals' 2027 rankings and No. 2 in the Big Ten.

Even though Auburn missed out on May on Saturday, do not expect the Tigers to back off their recruiting efforts. Auburn has recruited its home state very well and has landed four of the state's top 11 2027 prospects, including the state's No. 2 player, Isaac McNeil, and the state's top wide receiver, Dashawn Hall. Alex Golesh and his staff would love to add another of Alabama's top recruits to their 2027 class, so expect their pursuit of May to increase until December's signing day.

Auburn's 2027 recruiting class ranks No. 12 nationally and No. 6 in the SEC with 25 commitments.
