Big 12 Football Team Win Totals and Predictions for 2026

The Big 12 has seemingly been overtaken by Texas Tech. And the defending champions are the favorites to win the conference yet again with another loaded roster after an offseason rife with controversy.

The Red Raiders are hardly the only team in the conference with College Football Playoff aspirations, though. BYU, Houston, Utah are all in the mix as well. The sports books support that pecking order. Texas Tech (10.5) has the highest team total at 10.5, followed by Utah (8.5) and Houston (8.5). And then there's Arizona (7.5) and Kansas State (7.5).

Athlon Sports highlights the best over/under win total bets using DraftKings odds for the Big 12 and predicts which side of each team's total will hit in 2026.

Best Big 12 Over/Under Bets for 2026

Baylor (Under 6.5)
I'm intrigued by Baylor's offense with Florida transfer quarterback DJ Lagway working under coordinator Jake Spavital. However, even if this team improves off last year's five wins, getting to seven and the over seems like too steep of a climb considering the question marks on defense and on the offensive line. The schedule also includes road trips to Arizona State, Kansas, UCF, BYU, and Houston. If Lagway delivers, Baylor will be in the mix for a bowl. But I think this team is closer to 6-6 than 7-5 or 8-4.

Oklahoma State (Over 5.5)
The Cowboys stand to be one of the most-improved teams in the country under coach Eric Morris, who brought stars with him from North Texas. There are wins to be found in nonconference play, at Tulsa and against Murray State. If Oklahoma State capitalizes on a manageable Big 12 schedule, this team will be back in a bowl game. –Kyle Wood

BYU (Over 8.5)
Sure, BYU has a few question marks to address this offseason, but this program is 23-4 over the last two years and returns one of the conference's top quarterbacks (Bear Bachmeier) and a standout defense. The Oct. 17 showdown against Notre Dame and Nov. 7 matchup at Utah are tough. However, the Cougars could be favored in their other 10 contests.

Iowa State (Under 5.5)
The Cyclones have their work cut out for them after a late coaching change and roster exodus. And Iowa State's schedule could prove tricky. Avoiding Texas Tech and Houston is a plus, but the Cyclones might still struggle to get to .500 given the questions on defense.-Wood

Houston (Over 8.5)
If Texas Tech or BYU stumbles at the top of the Big 12, Houston has the pieces to capitalize. Quarterback Conner Weigman returns to lead an improving offense, and coach Willie Fritz added help from the portal to bolster both sides of the ball. Outside of road trips to Texas Tech and Utah, the Cougars should be favored in their other 10 matchups.

Cincinnati (Under 5.5)
The Bearcats have collapsed down the stretch each of the last two seasons. And now they've lost their star quarterback and play one of the toughest schedules in the conference. Regression is imminent for Cincinnati. –Wood
