While recruiting rankings can change before the early signing period in December, the most busy stretch of the 2027 cycle is largely finished. Most of ESPN's top prospects committed between March and late July; the current landscape offers a strong indication of which programs have built momentum on the recruiting trail.

Rather than ranking recruiting classes, ESPN's latest commitment tiers evaluate which schools have positioned themselves best entering the fall, highlighting the nation's hottest recruiting programs and those still with some work to do before signing day.

Florida is among the programs featured, providing another indication of where it stands in the race for the 2027 recruiting class. The Gators land in tier four, the tier dedicated to programs that hired new coaches this offseason.

The program has the No. 7 recruiting class, with 24 total commits from spring and summer.

Sumrall and his Florida staff hit the ground running in their first recruiting cycle, landing a verbal commitment from No. 1 offensive tackle Maxwell Hiller. If his commitment holds, he will be the Gators' highest-ranked offensive tackle recruit since 2015.

The Gators also landed Peyton Miller, a center, who is ranked No. 68, and in-state quarterback Davin Davidson, who is ranked No. 107, along with nine other blue-chip prospects.
