Pete Nochta promoted to interim Kentucky Football GM

Kentucky Football has named Pete Nochta the program’s interim general manager, according to BBN Tonight. Nochta replaces Pat Biondo, who abruptly stepped down as the full-time GM on Tuesday.

Nochta was hired this offseason as the assistant GM after previously serving as the Louisville Football director of recruiting. He’s served in various recruiting roles during his time at Louisville, as well as coaching tight ends for one season (2014). He played collegiately for Louisville (2006-10) as a tight end, which coincided with new head coach Will Stein’s time with the Cardinals (2008-12).

“I’ve known Pete a long time, and he’s an outstanding addition to our program,” Stein said when Nochta was hired back in December. “He’s experienced, detail-driven, and committed to doing things the right way. I’m looking forward to the impact he’ll make from day one.”

Nochta now gets his shot to take over as the program’s full-time GM and shed the interim tag. He’ll be tasked with helping keep together a 2027 recruiting class that’s currently ranked 21st at 247 Sports and 22nd at Rivals.
