Get to Know the Kentucky football roster: No. 32 Devin Smith

We're down to 32 days until the start of the Kentucky football season and game one against Youngstown State. As we are counting down the days, we are getting to know the 2026 roster, and today we will take a look at No. 32, Devin Smith.

Smith is a 6'0", 231 lb linebacker out of Brunswick, Georgia. As a recruit in the 2024 class, he was rated three stars by 247Sports, and ranked as the No. 685 overall player in their composite rankings. He had offers from several big-time programs, like the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers, but committed to the Wildcats.

In his first year, Smith redshirted, before becoming a part of the rotation in 2025. Unfortunately, his first season of playing was cut short by injury after just a handful of games. It was a tough break, but he stuck around through the coaching change regardless.

Heading into 2026, Kentucky's linebacker room is still sorting itself out. There is talent, but not a lot of experience, so Smith will have a chance to work his way onto the field and be a part of the defense. Everyone will have a shot at stepping up and taking a starting spot.
