A new Michigan State offensive lineman has been named to a notable preseason award watch list.
Michigan State offensive lineman Ben Murawski has been named to the Outland Trophy preseason watch list. The notable recognition was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Outland Trophy is annually given to the best interior lineman in the country. The award has been around since 1946 and is the third-oldest in college football history.
Murawski comes to Michigan State as a fifth year senior, previously playing at UConn. During his four years with the Huskies, he appeared in 30 games, including 19 starts. He was a second team Group of Five All-American selection by HERO Sports last season, and was considered one of the top portal additions for the Spartans this past offseason.
The semifinalists for the Outland Trophy will be announced on November 18, followed by a joint announcement with ESPN of the three finalists on November 24. Hopefully, Murawski has a strong year with the Spartans and finds himself in the mix for this award late in the season.
