Indiana football’s already formidable defense just got another boost on the defensive line.
Stephen Daley, who spent a single season with the Hoosiers in 2025 after transferring from Kent State, will return to the roster for the 2026 season for his fifth season of eligibility following a district court ruling in Colorado.
Daley emerged throughout the 2025 season, especially so after fellow defensive end Kellan Wyatt went down with an injury, and ended up leading both the Hoosiers and Big Ten as a whole with 19 tackles for loss. He was unable to play during Indiana’s College Football Playoff run after suffering an injury following the win over Ohio State in the Big Ten Football Championship Game.
He finished the 2025 season with 35 total tackles, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. His return is a huge boost for an Indiana defensive line that reloaded with a pair of defensive ends from Kansas State in Tobi Osunsanmi and Chiddi Obiazor.
