Ohio State RB Legend Bey Suspended For Team Rules Violation

Ohio State confirmed this Thursday that running back Legend Bey will miss at least the next few practice sessions.

Bey, a former four-star recruit from Texas, was a standout at North Forney High School before announcing his commitment to Ohio State. He excelled at quarterback, finishing the 2025 season with 1,341 passing yards and 1,626 rushing yards.

While the Buckeyes are excited about Bey's potential in their offense, Ryan Day said the freshman has been suspended for violating team rules.

“He won’t practice the first couple days,” Day told Lettermen Row. "Got a little violation of team rules, so he’s learning, but he’ll be back on the field soon.”

Ohio State's running back room is just fine.

Even if Bey's absence lingers longer than expected, Ohio State's backfield should be just fine heading into Week 1.

After all, Ohio State has a dynamic running back on its roster in Bo Jackson. The sophomore is coming off a 2025 season where he had 1,090 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 179 carries. He also hauled in 19 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown.

Ohio State will begin its 2026 campaign on Sept. 5 against Ball State.
