We are 29 days away from Penn State football, which means we get to profile a Townie: running back D’Antae Sheffey.

A three-star prospect in the 2026 class, Sheffey was committed to Syracuse for much of 2025, but he decommitted right around Thanksgiving and went unsigned during the early National Signing Day period. He was offered by Missouri, where he set up and official visit, and was then offered by the new staff at Penn State. Being a State College High guy, it was no surprise that Sheffey visited (?) campus and made the call for the Nittany Lions.

There are no redshirt seasons anymore, but Sheffey will essentially take one as he’s going to be behind Carson Hansen, James Peoples, Quinton Martin, and Cam Wallace in the running back group. The first year quasi-redshirt will probably be helpful, as Sheffey will need to add some mass to his 201-pound frame.
