LSU football center Braelin Moore could be the best in college football

LSU football offensive lineman Braelin Moore was named to the Rimington Trophy preseason watch list. The annual award is presented to the most outstanding center in NCAA Division I. The only Tiger to ever win the award is Ben Wilkerson, who took it home in 2004.

In 2025, LSU struggled to establish a rhythm on offense. A big problem was an injury-plagued offensive line, which led to movement across positions and an inconsistent showing in front of quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. Head coach Lane Kiffin made the group a priority in the offseason, which included securing Moore's return.

Moore dealt with a lingering ankle injury throughout last season but was solid when healthy. 2026 will be his second season in Baton Rouge and fifth in college football. He spent three seasons at Virginia Tech before joining the Tigers.

LSU brought in several transfer offensive linemen who project as starters, including Jordan Seaton and Aliou Bah. Moore bridges the gap between newcomers and inexperienced players from last season's roster. His ability to stay in the lineup will play a major role in LSU's success.
