No. 12 Notre Dame has been sluggish, especially on offense, so far against a 1-7 Boston College team in the first half.

The Fighting Irish defense tried to provide a spark with a nice interception, though the ensuing offensive drive ended with a red-zone fumble in the red zone.

Boston College quarterback Dylan Longergan was picked off when Notre Dame safety Adon Shuler tipped a pass that headed straight to a seated Tae Johnson.

Notre Dame's defense has generally played well so far — and it might need a few more takeaways to help jump-start the offense.
