Having been ranked No. 2 in the AP poll, there are as big expectations as there have ever been for the Oregon Ducks in 2026. With more expectations and a higher ranking comes more eyes on Duck football — a brand under head coach Dan Lanning that is already among the biggest in the sport, and it's about to grow even larger.

Some of the biggest attention in college football is delivered from ESPN's College GameDay, a show that visits the site of the premier game in college football each week of the season. College football personalities including Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee and Desmond Howard appear on the show and help make it the iconic show that it is. GameDay creates tons of fanfare for the university, as fans get up early to be in the background of the show.

Last season, two Oregon home games (Indiana and USC) and one road game (Penn State) were featured on GameDay, and that number could stay the same or even rise this fall. We ranked the five most likely games to be featured on ESPN's premier show, beginning with No. 5.
\n
5 — Oregon Ducks (2) at Oklahoma State Cowboys
\n
\n
Analysis: Though the Ducks' 69-3 shellacking might persuade GameDay away from this game, Oklahoma State imported 55 players via the transfer portal, including talented quarterback Drew Mestemaker, a 2027 NFL draft prospect just like Oregon quarterback Dante Moore. The game will be in Stillwater, making it that much tougher for the Ducks to come away with a victory. But the biggest thing that will likely shift GameDay away is that Ohio State (1) and Texas (5) are facing off, which is a sure-fire pick for college football's top show.
\n
4 — Oregon Ducks (2) vs. Michigan Wolverines (16)
\n
\n
Analysis: Somewhat surprisingly, the Wolverines commanded the No. 16 spot in the AP poll. That lifts the possibilities of Michigan's trip to Eugene in mid-November rising to the level of GameDay material, but other matchups across the country may very well trump it. Texas (5) takes on LSU (11), along with Indiana (6) – USC (14) and Ole Miss (9) – Oklahoma (10). If both teams are undefeated or even have just one loss between them, this would look like a more appealing matchup, but until then, it looks like GameDay will be elsewhere.
\n
3 — Oregon Ducks (2) vs. Washington Huskies (17)
\n
\n
Analysis: This one is really intriguing. The Ducks and Huskies haven't had very thrilling games in recent years, with a blowout in 2024 and a slog in 2025, though it did come down to the final quarter. Fortunately, there's just one ranked matchup on Saturday of Week 13, making this a prime candidate to be featured especially if Oregon remains undefeated or with one loss and Washington nudges into the College Football Playoff picture. Back in Eugene, GameDay could be in for a cold late November appearance.
\n
2 — Oregon Ducks (2) at USC Trojans (14)
\n
\n
Analysis: One of Oregon's GameDay showings last year, the Trojans present an early-season test in 2026 rather than a late-season test. When the two teams face off in Los Angeles at the Coliseum, as they are this season, they always seem to put on a show. There is some competition around the country, namely matchups such as Texas A&M (8) – LSU (11) and Georgia (3) – Oklahoma (11). But if both teams come into this undefeated, there's a solid chance GameDay will make a trip to sunny LA.
\n
1 — Oregon Ducks (2) at Ohio State Buckeyes (1)
\n
\n
Analysis: The real question for this? What are the chances that GameDay isn't in Columbus for this matchup between the Ducks and the Buckeyes? It's the premier matchup in college football for the entire season, featuring the top two teams in the preseason AP poll. What's not to love?
