Mount Union's Mikey Maloney on multiple Gagliardi Trophy watch lists

Mount Union sophomore quarterback Mikey Maloney will be on multiple watch lists for the 2026 Gagliardi Trophy heading into this season.

The Gagliardi Trophy is awarded annually to the most outstanding NCAA Division III football player. It recognizes excellence in athletics, academics and community service.

A D3football.com preseason All-American, Maloney threw for 2,769 yards and was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Bob Packard Most Outstanding Offensive Back as a freshman. He led the OAC with 31 passing touchdowns and 42 total touchdowns.

The third-ranked Purple Raiders will kick off the season at No. 5 Wheaton on Saturday, Sept. 5.
