Recruiting is a tricky business in college football, and Penn State found that out the hard way earlier this summer when they had multiple commits flip to other schools. A couple of them — like cornerback Semajay Robinson and running back Aiden Gibson — were expected to be building blocks for the future.
But they are committed to different teams now and the Nittany Lions were forced to pivot to other recruits. Now, they’re aiming to emulate the schools that stole Robinson and Gibson and are trying to poach a recruit themselves.
Ryan Snyder of On3 Sports reported Friday that Penn State has offered three-star running back Jordan Hall. The only catch is that he’s already committed to Miami Ohio. Snyder revealed that Hall made the decision before he had many offers, so it doesn’t sound like the commitment is set in stone.
The running back is part of the Class of 2027, and his senior season has gotten off to a hot start, according to Snyder. Hall had 88 yards, two rushing touchdowns, and an 88-yard touchdown reception in the opening game of his high-school season.
The Nittany Lions already have a few running backs to count on the future, but it can’t hurt to add one more. Let’s see if Hall takes the bait and flips his commitment now that he has some bigger schools knocking on his door.
