At long last, the end of the 2026 off-season is upon us! We fans have endured more tumult than usual this past off-season, what with the coaching changes and the transfers and the stadium construction and so on. But we made it!

This Saturday, the 2026-27 college football season officially begins at 12:00 ET with North Carolina taking on TCU in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland. Some of you may recall that new head coach Matt Campbell led Iowa State to the Emerald Isle just last year to partake in the very same game, coming away with a sloppy 24-21 win over Kansas State.

Other Week 0 games include San Jose State taking on USC, NC State playing UVA, Hawaii heading on the road to play Stanford, and a sneaky good late night matchup featuring Memphis vs UNLV.

We Penn State fans will have to wait another week to see the good guys play, but at long last we can count down the final work week before college football returns, a season that begins in late August and then lasts us well into late January.

We did it!
