Dae'Quan Wright may skirt SEC bylaws with Lane Kiffin reunion

Dae'Quan Wright's journey from college football to the NFL and back has raised the eyebrows of football fans everywhere. The historic move has invited opinions from all over the country, but there's an aspect of Wright's planned reunion with Lane Kiffin at LSU that might have gone under the radar.
ESPN college football analyst Pete Thamel spoke with John Buccigross on SportsCenter this morning, and the conversation touched on an SEC bylaw that Wright's anticipated transaction seems to gloss right over.
Buccigross brought up an SEC rule that players cannot transfer within the SEC unless the switch happens within five days after the end of a season. Wright played his last two college seasons at Ole Miss.
Thamel noted that the SEC has yet to respond to the situation since Wright is still going through NFL waivers and has not officially engaged with LSU, but Thamel believes that there's an additional nuance that could get Wright past the SEC's bylaw.
"Dae'Quan Wright is not transferring from Ole Miss to LSU," Thamel said. "He is leaving the Cleveland Browns to join the team at LSU. Whether that becomes some legalese that gets parsed, we will see in the upcoming days."
LSU's season begins Sept. 5 against Clemson.
