Fresh off its first win in over a month, Iowa State football looks to finish off the 2025 season on a high note with wins against two teams at the bottom of the Big 12 standings.

It appears the Cyclones have received some encouraging news on the injury front ahead of their regular-season home finale against Kansas as the team trimmed some names off the Big 12 availability report released on Friday, Nov. 21.

The Cyclones and the Jayhawks are slated for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff on Saturday, Nov. 22, inside Jack Trice Stadium.

Tight end Gabe Burkle was ruled out for the game, as he underwent surgery on Nov. 18. Similarly, coach Matt Campbell said on Nov. 18 that defensive back Ta’Shawn James will be sidelined “for the foreseeable future.” Jamison Patton was ruled out for the game as well.

Iowa State enters Week 13 looking to win consecutive games for the first time since late September, when it opened the season with five consecutive victories. The Cyclones are 43-53-6 all-time against the Jayhawks, and have dropped each of the last three meetings.

At four losses already on the season — all of which have come in Big 12 play — the Cyclones are out of contention for the conference championship game and the College Football Playoff. Despite that, Iowa State will play in the postseason for the third consecutive season with a 6-4 record.
