Fall camp has come to a close and the Irish are preparing for their matchup with Wisconsin on September 6. The season is 12 days away from kicking off and their in-school practice schedule has begun. This afternoon, we got to hear from offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, defensive coordinator Chris Ash, tight ends Cooper Flanagan and James Flanigan along with defensive tackle Armel Mukam and punter Jasper Scaife on their offseason growth and expectations for the season.

You can watch the entire press conference here:

Here are some of the main quotes from this afternoon's post-practice press conference:

Denbrock On What's Impressed Him About The Younger Receivers

"Yeah, it's been a little bit of this guy this day, that guy that day," Denbrock shared. "You know, I like that we're developing some really nice depth there and some really quality go-to pieces when they're called upon. There's a good collection of a number of guys. I'd hate to just point out one or two guys, to be honest with you, because I really like what that room is doing. They've been on the grind and have been improving day to day, and I like where the young guys are headed. I think there's some quality depth in that room that's going to continue to be developed."

Ash On His Thoughts On Wisconsin

"They have a bunch of new players," Ash explained. "It's just a different team, a different offense. It's going to be a game of adjustments once we get to the stadium, once we get to game day and the game starts and we figure out what they're going to do. They've got good coaches, they have a good scheme, they know what they're doing, they have a bunch of new players and there's a lot of excitement. We expect their best."

Flanagan On How Much Confidence He Gained Through Fall Camp

"Definitely a lot," Flanagan said emphatically. "I think fall camp was big, but I think spring was big. You know, just being able to play football again and, you know, trusting myself and trusting my body was great."

Mukam On Why He Came Back To Notre Dame

"You know, I always loved Notre Dame, loved the locker room and loved the coaching staff," Mukam shared. "For me, it was easy to just come back home. Obviously, you hire someone like Coach [Charlie] Partridge, who has a ton of expertise and coached up a lot of players at the highest level. You know, it just made it even easier for me to come back home."
