Announced by the program Wednesday, the Alabama Crimson Tide will open the 2029 season against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

Alabama-Louisiana Tech will be played Aug. 25, 2029 inside of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The game's start time, as well as TV information, will be announced at a later date.

According to the university, Alabama has played Louisiana Tech five times in the program's history, the most recent of which came back in 1999 via a 29-28 Crimson Tide defeat. Over the five games, a majority of which were played in the 1990's, Alabama owns a 3-2 all-time advantage head-to-head against the Bulldogs, with four of the contests played in Birmingham.

The Bulldogs are led by Sonny Cumbie, who is entering his fifth season in Ruston this fall. Louisiana Tech finished last season at 8-5 overall in Conference USA, and have joined the Sun Belt for the 2026 campaign.

Alabama currently has only one additional nonconference game scheduled for the 2029 season, a road trip to face Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish will make the return trip to Tuscaloosa in 2030.
