Summary: Beasley was a notable name out of high school, a consensus Top 150 guy out of Nashville who stuck close to home to play for the Volunteers over in Knoxville. Beasley played rotationally for a couple seasons and put up some nice numbers in 2025 with 24 tackles, 2 PBUs, and a short field fumble recovery he took to the house for six.
Kaleb was looking for some growth, a little more playing time, and a change of scenery with the Cards. Heading into the fall I would say Beasley was your penciled in starter at free safety, and I’ve not seen anything in the last few weeks that would indicate that has changed. Having a player like Kaleb not just for a season but for potentially two or more is a great benefit to building a consistent defensive unit that can compete with some of the best in the country. He may have heard Rocky Top from close to 100,000…but he’s never heard ‘Joker & The Thief’ on a brisk Friday night in Cardinal Stadium. Change your life, man.

BRIGGS CHERRY #10

Summary: Out of all the guys in the world, just over twenty years ago, my wife chose me to build a family with and start our journey together. I’d still rank that as number one, but a close second would have been Jeff Brohm and Brian Brohm hand selecting me as the next best thing to lead their program at quarterback. That’s the privilege of one Mr. Briggs Cherry, the 24-1 starter over the last couple season for the Baylor School, who has Elite 11 accolades and a state title to back it up.
Over 3,000 yards, 32 touchdowns, and sixteen plus power four offers later, Cherry is suited up for the Cards and showing quickly that he can not only be an elite level passer, but has the intangibles to be a leader, even at a young age. While the plan for Briggs is to let him develop under guys like Lincoln and Wydner, some of the throws I saw on film and in person during the fall practices were special…like “we might have a tough time keeping this guy off the field” type special. Briggs has been a big Louisville guy since he committed and has been a recruiter for the 2026 class, something I assume he will continue to do for 2027 as well. Brohm has taken some really good quarterbacks at WKU, Purdue, and Louisville and turned them into guys getting a shot in the NFL. I’m curious to see what he can do with a great quarterback, and multiple years to develop him. The world says don’t wish your life away, and I’ll enjoy 2026, but I’d be lying if I said a part of me wasn’t already excited for a Briggs Cherry led offense in the coming years.
