The 2026 football season for the Auburn Tigers is on the horizon. As we anticipate the start of the season, let's introduce you to a key member of the 2026 roster.
While Jeremiah Cobb will be the top running back entering the 2026 season, the group has a lot of options at the position. One of those players coaches and fans hope will be a key contributor is Baylor transfer Bryson Washington. In three seasons at Baylor, Washington rushed for 1,861 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. His breakout season was in 2024 when he rushed for 1,028 yards and 12 touchdowns. His production dropped off in 2025 with just 788 yards and six touchdowns, but that could be due to an offensive line that underperformed for the Bears.
When committed to Auburn as a transfer, he did so as a four-star and the No. 8 running back in the portal according to 247Sports. Another thing that slowed down Washington is injuries. That was the case throughout the spring and early on in fall camp. It seems that has changed recently, though, which is good news. He was recently named to the Earl Campbell Award watchlist.
