Oregon, Big Ten Network, DAZN agree to deal to stream game in Japan

The Oregon Ducks went global this summer, sending coach Dan Lanning and seven players to Tokyo in June to share the game of football with Japan and launch a Heisman campaign.

The Ducks won't be heading back to Japan during the season, but Oregon football will still be viewable in Japan and across the world this season. On Thursday, the University of Oregon announced a deal with Big Ten Network and DAZN to coordinate and distribute content throughout the 2026 season.

That includes all of Oregon's games that will air on Big Ten Network. As of now, the Ducks are only scheduled to play one game on the network this season: a Friday night game against Portland State in Week 3. DAZN, a global sports streaming platform, will allow customers outside of the United States to create an account and stream the game for free. The game is scheduled for Sept. 18 with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. PT.

While the Ducks' game against Portland State is free-to-view for customers outside of the United States, those fans will have to pay an annual or monthly subscription to access all of Oregon's games.

In addition, Oregon Athletics will distribute its original content through DAZN as well, including the highly popular "Ducks vs. Them" series, which documents each of Oregon's football games in cinematic form with behind-the-scenes footage. Big Ten Network will also deliver an episode of "The B1G Trip" following Oregon's journey in Tokyo over the summer. Dante Moore, Dakorien Moore, Jamari Johnson, Jeremiah McClellan, Jordon Davison, Dierre Hill Jr. and Evan Stewart all made the trip.

Oregon hoped to build upon its successful trip and connection with Japan, leading to the deal to bring Oregon football access across the world.

"The Tokyo Oregon Football Showcase created real connections, and this is a special way to build on the momentum created by our visit," Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens said. "Working with Big Ten Network and DAZN lets us bring Oregon football to fans in Japan and in all international markets DAZN serves, and we look forward to continuing to add additional content and other elements to this partnership."
