It's not long until the Hawkeyes take the field for a Senior Day matchup with the Michigan State Spartans. Unfortunately for Iowa, it'll have to take the field without a couple of key senior contributors.

The pregame injury availability report gave Hawkeye fans some devastating news. Iowa will be down star senior cornerback TJ Hall Jr., as well as senior tight end Hayden Large. Those two join wide receiver Jarriett Buie and tight end Addison Ostrenga as out for this game against the Spartans.

Losing Hall for this game is a big loss for Phil Parker's defense, which will have to deal with Spartan wide receiver Nick Marsh without their best coverage corner. Expect junior Deshaun Lee to get that assignment for most of the afternoon. Lee has been playing some great football over the past month and will be relied upon to make some plays on Saturday. Sophomore Jaylen Watson has looked good in small spurts this year and should draw the start in place of Hall.

Large is a sneaky big loss for the Iowa offense. While his receiving stats don't jump off the page, the former fullback turned tight end has done great work in the run game for the Hawkeyes, helping the offensive line open up plenty of holes for the running backs.

Junior Zach Ortwerth and freshman DJ Vonnahme should pick up a majority of the reps in this game. Vonnahme has played great the past two weeks, with a combined six receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown against USC and Oregon. True freshman four-star recruit Thomas Meyer could see some run in this game as well.

The Spartans are down 19 players for this game, with the most notable loss being starting quarterback Aidan Chiles. Michigan State will turn to freshman quarterback Alessio Milivojevic in this game. He's completed 63.4% of his passes for 720 yards and four touchdowns this season. This will be the third start in a row for Milivojevic and his most difficult test yet.

Iowa and Michigan State will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CST from Kinnick Stadium. The game can be seen on FS1.
