College football season is upon us, and the sunrise of promise that that brings is just beginning to warm our skin as we, the fans and armchair analysts, settle into our nests for another pad-clacking return to football.
With football comes rivalry. And with rivalry comes the Aggies.
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed recently took aim earlier this year to poke fun at Texas football’s iconic burnt orange colors, and to remind us that he, indeed, hates the Longhorns (that beat him last year.)
“I hate the color orange,” Marcel Reed said in April, according to On3. “The colors just look so ugly. Everywhere you go (in Austin), you see that color orange. Burnt orange? Who likes burnt orange? Texas, it’s the rival, bro. You gotta hate them.”
Reed continued, per On3, “We don’t like Texas. I don’t like Texas. It sucks that we’ve lost to them twice. But they’re coming here this year, so they’re gonna have to pay. I’ve got something for them, for sure.”
