High school football roundup: Southern Columbia fends off Wyomissing

Ayden Hockenbroch threw two touchdown passes and Joey Williams ran for two as Southern Columbia defeated Wyomissing 34-27 in a non-league football game on Friday night.
A year ago, Wyomissing defeated Southern Columbia 49-27.
Hockenbroch threw touchdown passes of 17 and 14 yards to Jace Malakoski, and Williams ran for scores of 66 and 7 yards.
Trailing 21-20 in the third quarter, Williams ripped off the 66-yarder to give Southern Columbia the lead at 28-20. His 7-yard TD made it 34-21.
Wyomissing quarterback Brady Eisenhower (8 of 12, 190 yards) threw two long touchdowns. The first was a 69-yarder to Andrew DiFabrizio for a 6-0 lead. His second bomb was 61 yards to Ethan Betances for a 14-7 lead.
Zander Westwood led the Spartans in rushing with 116 yards on 13 carries. He scored on a 27-yard run in the fourth quarter for the final score.
Wyomissing plays at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Frankford High School in Philadelphia.
Cocalico 40, Muhlenberg 21: Trailing 14-13, Cocalico ripped off four straight touchdowns en route to beating the Muhls. Rocco Rigney (10, 11) and Connor Horning (42, 3) each had two rushing touchdowns. For Muhlenberg, Adriel Baez threw three touchdown passes (48, 27, 16). Baez finished with 240 yards passing, but the Muhls gained only 21 yards rushing on 22 attempts. Cocalico rushed for 377 yards on 59 attempts, gaining just four yards in the air. Muhlenberg plays at Reading High at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Fleetwood 46, Kutztown 26: Chase Adams threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in the Tigers’ win over the Cougars. Adams threw an 8-yard TD pass to Bryce Ryan, a 35-yarder to Trey McKinney and a 69-yard strike to Hunter Fegely. Beau Fegely scored on a 65-yard punt return and 17-yard run for Fleetwood. Kutztown’s Hunter Amato opened the game with a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Adams finished 11 for 21 with 207 yards passing and Hunter Fegely had four catches for a 106 yards.
Twin Valley 42, Middletown 0: Lucas Myers rushed for 138 yards on 11 carries scored three touchdowns as the Raiders started the season with a shutout. Myers scored on runs of 54 and 39 yards and caught a 15-yard TD pass from Gavan Foster. The Raiders rushed for 401 yards. Grant Moser had 76-yard TD run, Chase Reilly a 69-yard TD run and Ailen Bazille a 55-yard scoring run. Twin Valley hosts Susquehanna Township at 7 p.m. Friday.
