Game week is here, and the college football world will have its eyes set on LSU and Death Valley. Lane Kiffin will finally make his debut with a talented roster and an elite coaching staff to face off against one of the best head coaches in college football, Dabo Swinney, and the Clemson Tigers.
It’s a matchup that LSU has had the upper hand in recently. The Tigers’ past two head coaches have both beaten Swinney.
Not only will the matchup draw attention, but LSU will open the season as the inaugural host for ESPN’s College GameDay and what will be the 500th show for the standard of college football pregame shows.
GameDay brings a lot of attention with the show as well. From the pregame field goal with Pat McAfee to all of the different signs showcased by the fans in the crowd, and let’s not forget when the guys start making their picks for the winners.
Longtime host Lee Corso retired last year, and unfortunately, his headgear selection retired with him.
LSU’s campus is already viewed as the premier place for college football and tailgating, especially. Add to that the anticipation surrounding the start of the Lane Kiffin era and College GameDay coming to town to kick off the season, and you have yourself set up for a beautiful college football gumbo to begin the season.
The Tigers have had the nation watching since Kiffin made the decision to make his way to Baton Rouge, and now the attention remains as LSU kicks off the season with a primetime matchup and the college football world watching from the moment the sun rises on Saturday.
Game week is finally here. How excited are you for LSU and College GameDay to be on campus? Will you be heading out to the Quad for College GameDay? And what kind of signs do you think we’ll see in the crowd?
