No. 18 Tennessee enters game week for its 2026 season opener. The Vols will kick off their campaign against Furman (1-0) on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

Kickoff between the Vols and Paladins is slated for 3:30 p.m. EDT and the nonconference matchup can be watched on SEC Network+.

Furman opened its season on Aug. 27. The Paladins defeated Anderson University, 20-3, at Paladin Stadium in Greenville, South Carolina.

Fifth-year quarterback and former Tennessee target Jake Garcia started for Furman and completed 15-of-28 passing attempts for 183 yards and one interception. He also totaled 51 rushing yards on nine attempts.

Ahead of Saturday's contest, Tennessee has a 99% chance to win, according to ESPN's Matchup Predictor. Nolan Analytics also projects the Vols to defeat Furman, 54-10, at the beginning of game week.

Tennessee leads the all-time football series, 2-0, against Furman, dating to 1941. The two schools played each other in back-to-back seasons from 1941-42.
