Michigan State Extends Offer Across the Pond to 2028 OT Adam Ibironke

Michigan State is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to building the best possible team and foundation for the coming years — including looking across the Atlantic Ocean.

Pat Fitzgerald and his coaching staff have officially extended an offer to offensive tackle Adam Ibironke, who currently plays with the NFL Academy in London, England.

At 6-foot-8 and 300 pounds, Ibironke is already an imposing presence on the offensive line and has established himself as one of the top prospects in the 2028 recruiting class.

ESPN currently ranks Ibironke No. 225 overall in its 2028 rankings, putting him firmly on the national radar despite still being several years away from making his college decision.

247Sports also has Ibironke rated as a four-star recruit with a 90 rating. The outlet ranks him No. 213 overall in the 2028 class, No. 28 among offensive tackles and as the top-ranked prospect out of England.

His composite rating tells a similar story.

Ibironke currently holds a 0.9032 composite score, which keeps him on a four-star trajectory based on a consensus of the major recruiting services. That score ranks him No. 292 overall in the 2028 class and No. 30 among offensive tackles. He also remains the No. 1-ranked prospect out of England.

There is clearly no shortage of interest in the massive offensive tackle.

Ibironke has already received offers from a long list of major programs, including Michigan, Arizona, Auburn, Florida State, TCU, Minnesota, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt.

Needless to say, the young offensive lineman will have a major decision to make when the time comes.

For Michigan State, this offer fits perfectly with what Fitzgerald and his staff are trying to establish in East Lansing.

The Spartans have a new coaching staff and a renewed commitment to winning the battle in the trenches. Michigan State wants to build a physical football team capable of controlling games at the line of scrimmage, and that starts with developing a dominant offensive line.

The Spartans have already shown an ability to develop talent up front, with their starting center from last season going on to be drafted into the NFL. Michigan State could also see as many as three offensive linemen hear their names called in the upcoming NFL Draft if the group develops the way many expect.

That type of development could become a major recruiting tool for Fitzgerald and his staff.

Fitzgerald has built his reputation around physical, hard-nosed football, and his teams have traditionally embraced a bully-ball mentality. The goal is to punish opponents at the line of scrimmage and establish control from the opening whistle.

That style could fit Ibironke extremely well.

At 6-foot-8 and 300 pounds, Ibironke already possesses the physical dimensions to become an elite offensive tackle. With several years of development ahead of him, there is plenty of time for him to add strength, refine his technique and potentially develop into one of the nation's premier offensive linemen.

Michigan State will continue working to establish itself as a destination for offensive linemen, and landing — or even seriously contending for — prospects such as Ibironke would be another major step in that direction.

The fact that Ibironke is currently the top-ranked prospect out of England makes his recruitment even more intriguing.

His path to college football is certainly unique, and his development with the NFL Academy will be one worth following over the next several years. With his combination of size, potential and national recruiting interest, Ibironke has the opportunity to become one of the biggest names in the 2028 class.

Michigan State has now made its interest known.

Whether Ibironke ultimately chooses East Lansing remains to be seen, but the Spartans have plenty of time to make their case.

If Michigan State can showcase just how effective its offensive line can be under Fitzgerald and his staff, there is no reason future top recruits shouldn't want to follow that path.

And for a player with Ibironke's size and potential, East Lansing could eventually become a very interesting destination.
