2026 Staff Pick’em Week 1

Week 0 was a decent start. Overall, the staff was 25-23. Tom, off a horrific 2025 started strong at 6-2. He was matched by Import to represent the staff alumni. Andrew and I both split it all at 4-4 while Cole was just behind at 3-5. Christian rounded off Import’s success by doing the inverse at 2-6.
With the sportsbook’s eager to disposses the college football public of their money, every game had a line. SEC vs FCS games rarely are open to bet. With no SEC-SEC games on opening weekend, it leaves us with a slate of 17 games to pick. We somehow managed to not have any unanimous picks in the bunch. Beyond that, I am not figuring out the split stats.
Feel free to use this as an open thread for tonight’s action.
The Rules
- Normally, the picks are for all SEC games with one dealer’s choice where I get to choose another game to make us pick.
- The picks will be made AGAINST THE SPREAD. Too many games are easy to pick heads up. Also, this will serve as a PSA for why you should not get into sports gambling, which is especially important with sports gambling being legal in Tennessee now.
- The lines will be taken from FanDuel, who SB Nation has partnered with this season, some time Monday, so they may not match what is listed at the time this article is published. I may also use a backup for FBS-FCS matchups if the line is available elsewhere when I get the spreads.
