Last week, the USCTrojans' offense dominated San Jose State and set the tone early with their physicality in the ground game. This week against Fresno State, it was Jayden Maiava attacking an opposing defense through the air. In Game 2, my MVP for the Trojans is Maiava.

It was clear from the beginning what type of game it was going to be for USC. Maiva connected multiple times on the first drive of the game with his playmakers for big gains. He and Tanook Hines reconnected for a touchdown. That drive set the tone, and Maiava did not let up one bit. The next drive, Maiava threw a 68-yard touchdown to special playmaking freshman Trent Mosley.

In the first half alone, Maiava was 17-for-18, had 284 yards, and 3 touchdowns through the air. Maiava looked confident, and he was playing aggressively. Maiava's day ended early once again later in the second half. He still finished the game 23-25, with 349 yards. In Game 1, he showed he can be patient and instill confidence in a younger offense. This game, he looked like he had full trust in all of his playmakers.

The passing game looks special. An offense led by Jayden Maiava looks like it can hang with the best of them. Game 1 was impressive. Maiava took it up a notch in Game 2, delivering a true Heisman-level performance.
