Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Boston College live updates: Start time, TV

The fourth season of the Scott Satterfield era begins Saturday afternoon, Sept. 5, as the Cincinnati Bearcats play the first of their six home games at Nippert Stadium against Boston College.

The Bearcats finished 7-6 last season after starting 7-1. Their biggest win was over No. 14 Iowa State last Oct. 4, 38-30.Boston College is coached by Bill O'Brien, who previously coached at Penn State and in the NFL with the Houston Texans.

The Eagles were 2-10 last season, winning their opener over Fordham and their final game of the season last Nov. 29 at Syracuse. They lost two games by two points, falling at Michigan State 42-40 in overtime and to Georgia Tech 36-34.

Both teams have new quarterbacks and several new additions via the transfer portal. UC has 22 transfers, and Boston College has 28.

The Eagles quarterback, Mason McKenzie, came from Saginaw Valley State, where he threw for 2,096 yards and 17 touchdowns while running for 942 yards and 10 scores.

UC quarterback JC French IV was at Georgia Southern, where he threw for 2,929 yards and 20 touchdowns and ran for 315 yards and six scores.

The series is tied 4-4, with UC winning the last meeting Jan. 2, 2020, in the Birmingham Bowl with a 38-6 triumph. Former UC quarterback Desmond Ridder ran for three touchdowns and threw for another to take MVP honors.
