Here's what Athens-area football players did for Georgia vs. Tennessee State

The Athens area has some recent graduates on the come up with Georgia football, and four of them saw the field on Saturday in the Bulldogs' 63-3 home opening win over Tennessee State.

Sophomore wide receiver Landon Roldan (North Oconee) caught the first pass of the game, 17-yards from graduate quarterback Gunner Stockton's hand. Roldan also had a 4-yard carry.

Sophomore quarterback Hezekiah Millender (Clarke Central) threw a singular and completed pass for 17-yards to freshman wide receiver Dallas Dickerson (North Oconee).

Freshman outside linebacker Khamari Brooks (North Oconee) had three total tackles, one solo and two assisted by sophomore defensive lineman JJ Hanne and sophomore inside linebacker Zayden Walker.

"They've got to grow up," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said of Brooks and the other young outside linebackers. "They just played Tennessee State. They didn't play an SEC opponent. They've got to grow up and they've got to get better because we need them better like, yesterday."

Senior safety Khalil Barnes (North Oconee) started and freshman defensive lineman AJ Lonon Jr. (Clarke Central) also saw playing time. Sophomore quarterback Jake Bobo (Prince Avenue Christian) and sophomore wide receiver Brody Tolbert (Prince Avenue Christian) did not see field time.

Georgia (1-0) will host Western Kentucky in week 2 on Saturday, Sept. 12. Kickoff is set for 12:45 p.m. on the SEC Network.
