Washington football to host promising 2028 Maryland CB for Apple Cup

The Washington Huskies are set to host over 40 recruits from the 2027, 2028, and 2029 classes on unofficial visits during their season opener against Washington State in the Apple Cup.

That group includes several first-time visitors to Montlake, including three-star cornerback Jordan Hicks. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound product of Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland, is ranked as the No. 419 overall prospect and No. 47 cornerback in the 2028 class by the 247Sports Composite and is a sought-after recruit for college programs across the country.

He holds 22 offers, with Auburn, California, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, UCLA, and Virginia Tech all among the schools in pursuit of his services.

During his sophomore year, Hicks posted 28 tackles, 20 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions, while showcasing the skill set that secondary coach John Richardson covets on the boundary.

On film, Hicks displays a fluid backpedal and the ability to flip his hips to stick with opposing receivers, along with the athleticism and long speed to run with them downfield, plus the quick instincts and football IQ to identify and break on plays quickly. He also has the length to not only play press coverage, but it also gives him the ability to recover and still get a hand on the ball if he falls behind by a step.

Washington has two cornerbacks committed in the 2027 class: four-star Censere Gaylord and three-star Maurice Williams, and as Jedd Fisch's coaching staff turns its attention toward 2028, Hicks could emerge as a priority target for the Huskies in the coming months.
