Ciara and Russell Wilson announced they are expecting their fifth child, ending a long-running campaign the quarterback nicknamed “Cinco.”
Russell Wilson has been publicly lobbying for “Cinco” for the better part of two years. He can stop now.
Ciara confirmed Sunday, Sept. 6, that she is pregnant with her fifth child, sharing the news in a joint Instagram post captioned simply, “One more person to Love.”
The announcement arrived through photos and video showing the singer’s baby bump alongside a clothesline strung with four white shirts, each bearing the name of a child already in the house: Future, Sienna, Win and Amora. A fifth item, a small blank onesie, hung at the end of the row.
The quarterback’s campaign for a fifth had become something of a running bit. Speaking to E! News at Fanatics Fest in July, Wilson said he was trying to convince his wife, adding that “Cinco, you got to be on the way soon” and insisting they both wanted five. He had been pushing the idea since shortly after Amora’s arrival in December 2023.
Ciara, for her part, had never ruled it out so much as asked for time, telling Jennifer Hudson in 2024 that she needed a beat before committing. Apparently that beat has passed.
The couple’s circle responded quickly. Vanessa Bryant commented that it was “about damn time,” while La La Anthony called the news another blessing and offered space at her house.
The baby will be Ciara’s fifth overall and her fourth with Wilson, whom she married in July 2016. She shares Future Zahir, 12, with rapper Future, and Sienna Princess, 9, Win Harrison, 6, and Amora Princess, 2, with the quarterback.
The 40-year-old returned to touring not long after Amora was born, bringing her children along for the run. Speaking with PEOPLE in September 2024, she said her kids traveled with her and that she couldn’t have approached it any other way, describing them as babies of the tour surrounded by family and collaborators.
She also described the pivot that followed once the road ended, from tour logistics straight into back-to-school shopping. Calling it the most amazing time with her children, she said the small joys were what life is actually about.
