Updated SEC recruiting rankings for the Class of 2027

The 2027 recruiting cycle still has a few months to go until the December signing period, but it feels like a majority of the top classes in the nation are set. Just two senior blue-chippers — according to the Rivals Industry Ranking — remain uncommitted, as of Sept. 7.

Things always move quick in the summer during official visit season, but this cycle has moved at a fervent pace since the beginning of the spring. While coaching changes, changes of heart and other factors will lead to some flips down the stretch, for the most part, top recruits look locked into their respective pledges.

The SEC is coming off a perfect Week 1 to begin the 2026 season. As the league eyes a return to the top of the college football mountain, it continues to have its fingerprints all over the top of the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Of the nation’s top 25 classes, 11 belong to the SEC. That includes five of the top 10. Texas A&M continues to hold the top spot. Rivals is taking a look at the updated SEC class rankings, now that football is finally back:

1. Texas A&M — 94.173

Top Commit: OT Mark Matthews, No. 4 NATL. (No. 1 OT)

There’s been a slight change to the Aggies’ No. 1 haul as three-star cornerback Loia Valade opted to reclassify into the 2026 cycle and head to College Station early. That doesn’t alter A&M’s stacked haul that still features a whopping five five-stars and an additional six top-100 commits. Matthews is the No. 1 OT, Kamarui Dorsey is the No. 1 safety and Kaden Henderson is the No. 1 LB in the nation. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Head coach Mike Elko and his staff will be tough to dethrone from the top spot in the team rankings.

2. Texas — 92.035

National Class Ranking: No. 6
Top Commit: WR Easton Royal, No. 5 NATL. (No. 1 WR)

On Aug. 1, Texas landed four-star Landen Williams-Callis, the No. 3 RB in the nation. He was the final top-100 prospect to come off the board and he vaulted Texas up two spots to No. 6 in the national team rankings. Steve Sarkisian and Co. still hold a pledge from Royal, though LSU has continued to press for a flip. Five-star IOL Ismael Camara brought fireworks with a Fourth of July commitment. Four-star DL Kasi Currie is the No. 6 recruit in California and he’s one of seven blue-chip commits on the defensive side of the ball for the SEC program.

3. Oklahoma — 92.027

27 total commits
1 five-stars | 12 four-stars | 14 three-stars
National Class Ranking: No. 7
Top Commit: CB Gabriel Osborne Jr., No. 22 NATL. (No. 3 CB)

Three Oklahoma commits are featured in the Rivals300, including CB Gabriel Osborne Jr., who’s now an industry five-star. Rivals five-star OT Cooper Hackett, elite four-star OT Kaeden Penny and Osborne are all among the top recruits to come out of the Sooner State in a while and all three plan to head to Norman. OU went to the Bluegrass State and landed Rivals five-star TE Seneca Driver back in March and he remains one of the nation’s best, too. Elite four-star LB Cooper Witten, the son of Jason, is the other top-50 recruit in the class.

4. Florida — 91.716

Jon Sumrall’s program garnered some serious momentum on the trail this spring and built a bulk of its class before official visit season. Florida has continued to add a piece here and there and has the Gator faithful excited about the future ahead of this season. Hiller is now the No. 2 recruit in the nation after Texas Five-Star Plus+ CB John Meredith’s reclassification. Four-star WR Elias Pearl is the other top-100 recruit in the mix. There’s 17 blue-chip commits in the UF class — which will look to remain inside the top 10 nationally down the stretch.

5. LSU — 90.914

National Class Ranking: No. 10
Top Commit: TE Ahmad Hudson, No. 37 NATL. (No. 2 TE)

It’s already been an eventful first cycle in Baton Rouge for Lane Kiffin and the new LSU staff, but the Tigers are now back in the top 10 and are in the mix for multiple five-stars committed elsewhere. Hudson continues to lead the charge and is flanked by a trio of other industry top-100 prospects: EDGE Chris Whitehead, EDGE K.J. Green and QB Peyton Houston. Whitehead and Green were two of six blue-chip commits for LSU during June.
