Alabama stock report: Who impressed during win vs. Eastern Illinois?

During a 56-0 win Saturday over the Eastern Illinois Panthers, the Alabama Crimson Tide saw many players make an impact in the victory.

A dominant victory for the Crimson Tide, many of Alabama’s starters enjoyed big games Saturday afternoon, as did some reserves. Included in this group were each of Alabama’s three quarterbacks seeing playing time, along with a majority of backups making an appearance at almost every position across the field.

Following is the latest stock report coming out of Saturday’s win over Eastern Illinois, which features three Alabama players who are on the rise as a result of their performance against the Panthers.

AK Dear, Running Back, Freshman

The true freshman running back was a player who was expected to see an increase in playing time against Eastern Illinois, and AK Dear certainly delivered with that opportunity. In all, Dear rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, which translated to an average of five yards per carry, along with two receptions for 12 yards, and it will be intriguing to see if the freshman emerges as a factor in Alabama’s game plan for the Iron Bowl.

Marshall Pritchett, Tight End, Freshman

Due to the injury of Josh Cuevas, Alabama’s tight end room was a position group to watch in Week 13, and another true freshman, Marshall Pritchett, was a name who emerged with a career day against the Panthers. The freshman ended with a team-high four receptions for 33 yards, and could potentially feature in a key role for Alabama going forward, especially if Cuevas is unavailable.

Kevin Riley, Running Back, Redshirt Freshman

While numerous other options to choose from here, it’s hard to not mention Kevin Riley coming off one of the best games of his Alabama career. In all, Riley rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns on eight attempts, while also catching three passes for 37 yards, and will be a name to watch for this upcoming Saturday in the Iron Bowl.
