LSU is climbing ESPN's FPI rankings after a 51-10 win vs Clemson. The Tigers are up two spots, now sitting at No. 7. LSU's FPI rating of 24.1 is No. 3 in the SEC, only trailing Georgia and Texas.

Power rating systems usually like 51-10 blowouts and LSU is being rewarded here. Of course, power ratings don't matter in the grand scheme of things – the games still have to be won on the field – but it's a positive signal for what LSU can be this year.

FPI now gives LSU a 58.1% chance of making the College Football Playoff and a 13% chance of making the national title game.

It's only year one for Lane Kiffin in Baton Rouge, but expectations are even higher after Week 1's stunning blowout. LSU was a double-digit favorite, but not many expected that level of throttling in Tiger Stadium.

LSU played clean football in all phases of the game. The offense moved the ball on the ground and in the air, and the defense was swarming and suffocating all night long.

Next up for LSU is a home game vs. Louisiana Tech. Then the big one at Ole Miss in Week 3.
