The 2027 recruiting cycle still has a few months to go until the December signing period, but it feels like a majority of the top classes in the nation are set. Just two senior blue-chippers — according to the Rivals Industry Ranking — remain uncommitted, as of Sept. 10.

Things always move quick in the summer during official visit season, but this cycle has moved at a fervent pace since the beginning of the spring. While coaching changes, changes of heart and other factors will lead to some flips down the stretch, for the most part, top recruits look locked into their respective pledges.

Almost every ACC recruiting headline this cycle has revolved around Miami. The Hurricanes have the nation’s No. 3 class — per the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings — and are the only ACC program to have a top-15 class with the season underway.

There are some new head coaches in the league who are making a splash in their new digs, while some old faces are still trying to show they’ve got their fastball. Rivals is taking a look at the updated ACC class rankings, now that football is finally back:

1. Miami — 93.061

The Hurricanes were on the right end of the latest piece of five-star news as CB A’mir Sears reclassified up from the 2028 cycle and quickly set his commitment date. He pledged to the Hurricanes on July 31, giving Mario Cristobal a fourth five-star and adding to an elite defensive back haul that also features Wright and top-100 safety Ai’King Hall. Wright flipped from Georgia, Hall flipped from Oregon and five-star EDGE Jaiden Bryant flipped from LSU. Those are statement wins for the ACC program.

2. Clemson — 90.544

The recruiting pitch remains the same from Dabo Swinney, and despite on-field results, it continues to resonate with a slew of blue-chippers. Simmons is the lone top-100 prospect in the class, but the Tigers have recruited and landed top targets from all across the Southeast. Four-star Seth Tillman is the No. 15 DL in the cycle and four-star Gary Walker is the No. 8 RB and No. 11 recruit in Georgia. Up in Michigan, four-star Bryce Kish is a do-it-all prep star who ranks as the No. 11 LB in the nation.

3. Virginia Tech — 89.340

The James Franklin era in Blacksburg is underway and Virginia Tech has immediately won over local targets and others across the country. A top-20 finish would equal a landmark haul for the Hokies as they try to rise up the ACC ranks. Bourque, a former Michigan pledge, landed with VT in May. Between April and June, all six of its four-stars jumped in the boat, including No. 5 TE Jordan Karhoff, four-star DL Joseph Buchanan and four-star OT Junior Saunders, the No. 5 senior in Virginia.

4. Cal — 89.207

Another new staff making their presence felt is Tosh Lupoi and Co. at Cal. The Golden Bears are going toe to toe with top West Coast programs and they’ve landed commitments from six of the top 30 seniors in the Golden State, including Davis, No. 8 TE Rahzario Edwards, four-star WR Demare Dezeurn and four-star EDGE Troy Bowens. Cal has one of the nation’s top receiver classes, which highlights what could be a memorable haul headed to Berkeley.

5. Georgia Tech — 88.857

Brent Key and the Georgia Tech staff continue to vie for top in-state prospects. Five of the nine four-stars in the class are inside the Peach State, including Sam-Epelle, RB Moonie Gipson and EDGE Justin Weeks. Six of the four-stars are on the defensive side of the ball, with Weeks, DL Jamar Thompson, EDGE Success Nwabude and EDGE Braden Gordon creating an impressive quartet in the defensive trenches.
