College Football Games Today: Is There an NCAA Game Tonight? A Look at Friday’s Slate and Complete Week 2 TV Schedule

Week 2 of the 2026 college football season gets Friday night underway with five games on the schedule for Sept. 11. While it’s a smaller slate, there is still plenty at stake for the teams involved. Some will try to carry their early-season momentum into another win, while others are looking to get back on track before conference play gets going.
Is There a College Football Game Today?
There are five games in today’s college football schedule. The matches will also feature teams from the ACC against FCS opponents, a Big Ten matchup, and one SEC team to represent the conference.
College Football Games on Friday, September 11
All times listed here are Eastern Time.
Richmond vs. NC State, 7 p.m. ET, ESPNU
NC State needs a bounce-back game badly.
The Wolfpack got embarrassed by Virginia in Week 1, and CJ Bailey had a particularly rough night. He threw for just 84 yards and turned the ball over twice, only having a PFN QB Impact Score of 58.5.
Richmond is exactly the type of opponent Bailey needs right now. Get some completions, move the ball, score some touchdowns, and forget about what happened last week.
This shouldn’t be all that close, and the Wolfpack should gain some much-needed confidence if all goes to plan.
Norfolk State vs. Virginia, 7 p.m. ET, ACC Network
Virginia made a statement against NC State.
The Cavaliers won 34-8 and looked like a team that knows exactly what it wants to be, with a physical running game, efficient passing, and a quarterback who can hurt you with his legs.
Beau Pribula ran for 110 yards and threw for two touchdowns in his Virginia debut. That’s a pretty good way to introduce yourself and make a statement after feeling like an afterthought from Missouri a year ago.
Norfolk State is unlikely to have enough to give Virginia much trouble. The bigger question is whether the Cavaliers can keep that same energy for another game they’re expected to win easily.
Villanova vs. Louisville, 7 p.m. ET, ACC Network
Louisville lost a wild one to Ole Miss, but there was plenty to like about the Cardinals.
Lincoln Kienholz really came alive late, finishing with 307 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and another score on the ground. His ability to make plays outside the pocket was obvious, and he looked more accurate as the game went on. The former Ohio State Buckeye got beat out by Julian Sayin, but his time to shine is now with head coach Jeff Brohm bringing him along.
Now he gets Villanova.
This is a good spot for Louisville to get back on track and for Kienholz to get more comfortable running the offense. Villanova is a good enough FCS team to make Louisville work for it, but the Cardinals should have too much in the end to easily pull away.

Rutgers vs. Boston College, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2
Rutgers and Boston College are both 0-1, and neither will want to dig an early hole.
Rutgers has some players who can make a difference, especially KJ Duff at receiver and Antwan Raymond at running back. Duff had 196 yards and three touchdowns to his name along with a PFN CFB WR Impact score of 93.3, but that wasn’t nearly enough to stop the massive upset against UMass. The question is what happens at quarterback after a rough opening week.
That’s what makes this one interesting. Neither team looks like a contender right now, so this could end up being one of those games that means a lot to both teams so their head coaches still have a job at the end of the season.
Not exactly a must-watch matchup, but it should be a close one.

Missouri vs. Kansas, 8 p.m. ET, FOX
This is easily the Friday night game to be most interested in.
Austin Simmons had a great first game for Missouri, throwing four touchdowns in a 54-14 win. But let’s be honest, that was a low-stakes game they were expected to win.
Kansas looked good in its opener too, putting up 613 yards against Long Island. Isaiah Marshall looked comfortable, and the Jayhawks ran the ball extremely well.
Missouri has the better overall roster, and Eli Drinkwitz is one of the steadier coaches in the conference. But Kansas is at home, this is a rivalry game, and the Jayhawks have enough offense to make things interesting.
Simmons is the player to watch as he gets acclimated to the Tiger offense, but there is still no sign of star running back Ahmad Hardy, who’s dealing with an injury.

After Friday, college football will have a packed Saturday, September 12, schedule. The massive offering of games will feature some of the country’s top teams, including Texas vs Ohio State, Oklahoma vs Michigan, and much more.
