Oregon Ducks Honoring 2008 Team With Uniform for Week 2

The Oregon Ducks will wear a uniform to honor their 2008 Holiday Bowl victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 42-31.

Oregon's offense was dominant in that game, led by their ground game, as Jeremiah Johnson rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries, while Jeremiah Masoli had 106 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries, and LeGarrette Blount had 74 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

The Ducks' run game remains strong all the way in 2026, led by Jordon Davison, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Davison had a quality freshman campaign for Oregon, as he rushed for 667 yards and 15 touchdowns in the 2025 season.

He will look to continue building on his season, become one of the top running backs in the country, and live up to the program's former stars.

The Ducks have a ton of talent on their roster and will be a contender for the National Championship, but they put up a disappointing effort in Week 1 against Boise State. Oregon narrowly came away with a win despite being heavy favorites and entering the game as the second-ranked team in the country.

After their narrow win, the Ducks dropped from second to sixth and will need to be more dominant in their matchup against Oklahoma State to move back up.

The Cowboys fell in their opener against Tulsa, 24-10, which bodes well for Oregon to secure a big win in the 2026 season.

The Ducks have an explosive offense led by quarterback Dante Moore, who should be a Heisman Trophy contender. Moore played at a high level against the Broncos in Week 1, as he completed 28 of 37 passes for 378 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

The weapons were on full display in the win, as Jeremiah McClellan had six receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown, Dakorien Moore had six receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown, Evan Stewart had eight receptions for 72 yards, and Jamari Johnson had four receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.

Oregon has consistently been a great college football program, and they will honor the 2008 Holiday Bowl team as they look to improve to 2-0 in the 2026 season.
