Oklahoma Sooners to be without starting wide receiver

The Oklahoma Sooners ' starting lineup has been banged up since fall camp. They've had offensive linemen out, most notably Michael Fasusi missing the Michigan game, and now they're going to be without one of their top wide receivers.

In his weekly press conference, Oklahoma Sooners head coach Brent Venables was asked about Trell Harris, who took a big shot in the game after catching a pass over the middle. Venables said Harris is going to be out for the "foreseeable future."

Harris was a big-time addition in the transfer portal after an All-ACC season at Virginia in 2025. The veteran pass catcher is tied for second on the team with six receptions and is second on the Sooners in receiving yards with 104. On Saturday in the loss to Michigan, Harris had four receptions for 43 yards.

Without him, the Sooners will need Elijah Thomas, Parker Livingstone, Mackenzie Alleyne, Manny Choice, and JerMichael Carter to step into more significant roles in the Sooners' offense. After the offense struggled on Saturday, the Sooners need to find some consistency this week against New Mexico and ahead of another big road trip to Athens to take on the Bulldogs.
