The Auburn Tigers have their first SEC test on Saturday against the Florida Gators in Jordan-Hare.
USA TODAY's Paul Myerberg ranked the Tigers No. 36 in this week's 1-138 re-rank, a three-spot leap from the week before. Auburn is 2-0 and has only played Baylor and Southern Miss. Nothing where the Tigers could make some big leaps in the rankings.
Their opponent, Florida, ranks at No. 26; this is a five-spot improvement for the Gators. Florida impressed offensively this weekend after a 52-3 win over Campbell. The Gators have some serious firepower in wide receiver Vernell Brown III and running back Jadan Baugh.
Both teams are in year one of a head coach in their first SEC coaching job. Florida's Jon Sumrall and Auburn's Alex Golesh will be discussed throughout the game and after due to the Tigers pursuing Sumrall in their coaching search. The winner of this game will boost themselves into SEC play, while the loser could stumble.
Auburn and Florida kick off on Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn at 6 p.m. CT.
