Emerging JUCO cornerback to officially visit FSU

Coaleon Johnson is one of the top cornerbacks at the junior college level, and FBS programs are starting to pay attention to the Iowa Western star.

He has received 11 scholarship offers in September, with the FSU Seminoles extending him one on Sept. 14. The SMU Mustangs, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Kansas Jayhawks, and Missouri Tigers are the other Power Four schools to offer him.

Johnson is starting to set up visits for the fall, and the Seminoles will get to host the talented corner. He is set to come to Tallahassee on Nov. 27 for an official visit, according to Kolby Crawford of Noles247. The visit coincides with their season finale against the Florida Gators in Doak Campbell Stadium.

He also explained to Crawford what he is looking for in his next school.

"The coaches, I talk to him a lot. It's not just about football, it's about life goals, academics, things like that. I mainly talk to the corners coach," Johnson said.

Johnson also has official visits scheduled to see the Georgia Bulldogs (Nov. 13-15) and Kansas State Wildcats (Sept. 19). With his recruitment just taking off, it is likely that more trips will be scheduled as he continues to evaluate his options and connect with coaching staffs.

He is ranked as the No. 6 overall player and No. 2 cornerback in the 247Sports composite JUCO. He is the No. 3 player in Illinois.

Johnson had an excellent freshman season at Rochester C.C., playing in 10 games as a freshman and being named an NJCAA DIII All-American. He finished the year with 55 tackles, six interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and two touchdowns, returning one interception and one fumble for scores. His sophomore year at Iowa Western is off to a strong start, with him intercepting two passes in their first three games.
