Ahead of his return to face the Ole Miss Rebels, Kiffin had LSU fraternity members line a path at practice and heckle Tigers players as they walked through.

Pat McAfee shared the video of the unusual preparation Friday, showing LSU players moving through a gauntlet of students who shouted insults and held up signs as the Tigers made their way through.

Reacting to the exercise, WESH 2 sports director Daren Stoltzfuswrote, “Some NSFW signage on here, but holy cow — Lane Kiffin fully embracing what is to come tomorrow night in Oxford. He is one of a kind.”

One fan saw more method than madness, writing, “Wait, that’s genius, lmao.”

Another reaction captured how normal the absurdity has become around Kiffin: “Most sane Lane Kiffin headline.”

A different fan praised the approach, writing, “I love stuff like this. This is coaching to me. He’s full of shenanigans, and yet you never have to question if his team is ready to play.”

Not everyone was sold, though.One X user wrote, “Alright man, Lane is just doing too much.”

The practice stunt fits a week in which the buildup has often felt bigger than the game itself. Kiffin left Ole Miss for LSU after six seasons in Oxford, taking over a conference rival after guiding the Rebels to an 11-1 regular season and their first College Football Playoff berth.

Kiffin has openly acknowledged the hostility awaiting him. The matchup has prompted extensive security planning, including dozens of state troopers, mounted patrols and assistance from law enforcement agencies outside Mississippi.

Thehostile buildup has already included vulgar signs directed at Kiffin and his family, but he has experienced a similar road environment before.

When he returned to Tennessee as Ole Miss’ coach in 2021, fans threw bottles, debris and a golf ball toward the field during the Rebels’ 31-26 victory.

This time, the football stakes are just as significant. The No. 7 LSU Tigers and No. 8 Ole Miss are both 2-0, and Saturday marks their first meeting with both programs ranked inside the AP Top 10 since 1962.
