Tennessee football offers 2028 Kansas City tight end

Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2028 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to four-star tight end Israel Johnigan.
"After a great conversation with (coach) Alec Abeln, I am blessed to receive my 14th Division I offer," Johnigan announced.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect is from Center High School in Kansas City, Missouri. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 9 tight end in the class and No. 2 player in Missouri.
Iowa State was the first school to offer Johnigan a scholarship on April 22. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Texas Southern, Minnesota, Arizona, Kansas State, Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois, Northwestern, Penn State, Arizona State, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Quarterback Kaden Craft is Tennessee’s only 2028 commitment.
Tennessee has 19 commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman, defensive back Carter Jamison and defensive back Brandon Leavell, tight end Malik Howard, defensive lineman Christian Mays, cornerback Dylan Haley, linebacker Kenneth Simon II, kicker Ford Fehling, long snapper Sam McKeown, offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson, athlete Dayon Cooper, safety Marcus Jones, offensive tackle Niko Kampas, running back David Gabriel Georges and running back Asa Barnes.
