Ole Miss dominated the first half of its game against LSU on Saturday night.

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss put on a show in the first 30 minutes, completing 21-of-27 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns. He looked like arguably the best quarterback in college football and hopes to carry that momentum for the rest of the game.

The Ole Miss defense swarmed LSU’s offense, limiting it to just seven points. LSU’s offensive line struggled against the Ole Miss defensive line.

With that, Ole Miss took a 17-point lead (24-7) into the half, which is a big deal. According to ESPN Insights, Ole Miss is 40-1 when leading by 17 or more points at halftime in home games since 2004.

LSU’s comeback efforts took a step forward in the third quarter, thanks to a touchdown from quarterback Sam Leavitt. He took the snap and ran it in himself to make it 24-14.

Now LSU’s defense has to get a stop so the offense can get back on the field and try to trim the deficit even further. The winner will stay undefeated, while the loser will fall to 2-1.
