Georgia football has had no trouble so far this season against a schedule that has not had enough firepower to compete with it over the first three weeks of the season, and it might have even left Kirby Smart and company a little bit bored.
On Saturday, Georgia followed up a pair of dominant wins against Tennessee State and Western Kentucky with a comfortable 45-17 win against Arkansas to open SEC play on the road. During the fourth quarter, Georgia’s defensive linemen were seen doing individual drills, like they were at practice.

It’s safe to say this is a strange sight, especially in a game that was already in the bag. After the game, Kirby Smart talked about the move that caught a lot of people’s attention.
“That’s a question for (defensive line coach) Tray Scott, that’s a belief he has. We’re not getting enough work,” Smart said. “They’re not running the ball, they’re not being physical enough. We need to get work, so he gets work between snaps and between huddle breaks to make sure we’re getting enough — they’re earning their NIL every day.”
After the game and Smart’s press conference, many fans on social media took it as a dig at Arkansas, disrespectful or not. The Razorbacks clearly didn’t have enough talent on either side of the ball to push Georgia in any way, shape or form, so the Bulldogs took matters into their own hands.
This is a continuation of what has been a brutal start to the Ryan Silverfield era for Arkansas. The Razorbacks fell 43-10 to Utah in Week 2, so it’s looking like it’s going to be another long season in Fayetteville.
Things will get a little bit tougher for Smart and company now as they move into the heart of the SEC schedule. In Week 4, Georgia will welcome No. 24 Oklahoma to Athens for a highly-anticipated clash before preparing for dates with the likes of Alabama and Ole Miss later in the season.
Oklahoma vs. Georgia will kick off at 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday afternoon.
