There may be light at the end of the tunnel for USC freshman Trent Mosley. After missing the Trojans’ Big Ten opener against Rutgers, the wide receiver was listed as doubtful with a knee injury on Wednesday’s availability report ahead of Saturday’s matchup against No. 20 Oregon.
Mosley has been dealing with a possible right knee issue. He was shown with a bag of ice on his knee during the television broadcast of USC’s win over Louisiana earlier this month. Before the injury, Mosley was off to a flying start, hauling in 13 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns through the first three games of the season. He also returned a punt 86 yards for another score.
With Mosley absent against the Scarlet Knights, fellow freshman receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt led the Trojans with five receptions for 77 yards. USC will also be without wide receiver Corey Simms against the Ducks after he was listed as out. Simms had four catches for 72 yards and a touchdown before leaving the Trojans’ win over Rutgers after clutching his left knee early in the fourth quarter.

The Trojans have four players listed as out for Saturday’s game: Simms, safety Kendarius Reddick, linebacker Taylor “Taybo” Johnson and center Kilian O’Connor, who is out for the season. Defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart is questionable after missing the entire season with a foot injury. USC head coach Lincoln Riley said earlier this week that Stewart had not suffered a setback in his recovery.
Running back Deshonne Redeaux, safety Alex Graham and linebacker Jadyn Walker are also questionable, while linebacker Elijah Newby is listed as probable.
Oregon won’t have a full deck to work with either, as wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan remains unavailable after suffering a broken foot in warmups before the Ducks’ 84-0 win over Portland State. McClellan had six catches for 151 yards and a touchdown in Oregon’s season-opening win over Boise State.
Wednesday’s report is the first of four availability reports before kickoff, with the final update scheduled for two hours before Saturday’s game at the Coliseum.
