SEC football Week 5 power rankings: Texas A&M plummets after LSU loss

Another chaotic weekend in the Southeastern Conference separated some of the league's top teams from new bottom-dwellers who failed to meet expectations.
Texas A&M continues to tumble down our conference power rankings after another embarrassing performance on Saturday night. Mike Elko's undefeated streak against LSU was snapped, as the Tigers secured a dominant 35-6 win over the Aggies.
Despite Texas A&M's struggles and 2-2 record, the Oklahoma Sooners may take the cake as the most disappointing SEC team. Brent Venables' squad was steamrolled by the Georgia Bulldogs, 41-13, in Athens.
On a more positive note, the Florida Gators chomped Ole Miss, 52-28, in one of the most electrifying games in the Swamp in some time. Meanwhile, Mississippi State remains the only undefeated team in the state by knocking off No. 19 Missouri in a rowdy Davis Wade Stadium, setting up its second consecutive week of the battle of the unbeatens when the Alabama Crimson Tide comes to town.
