A sorority girl who attended the Florida-Ole Miss football game last weekend went viral, and she channeled Gators head coach Jon Sumrall in her latest Instagram post.
The fan, Peyton Blomquist, 18, is a member of the University of Florida Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She took to Instagram to share a carousel of pictures and videos, including some from the game that went viral.
Her three-word caption read, “Work the cut.” This was seemingly a reference to Sumrall’s recent comments during a press conference. Speaking after Florida’s blowout of Ole Miss, he explained the phrase “work the cut,” which Buster Douglas popularized.
Florida football’s blowout over Ole Miss
Heading into their game, Ole Miss was the fourth-ranked school in the country. Meanwhile, Florida was the 21st-ranked program. That did not matter, as the Gators won the game by 24 points, 52-28. They went up 10-0 before the Rebels managed to score and would not take their foot off the pedal.
Trinidad Chambliss threw for 298 yards and one touchdown (with one interception). He also rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns. However, he lost a fumble.
The Gators were led by their running backs. Jadan Baugh rushed for a team-high 142 yards and three touchdowns. Duke Clark also rushed for 126 yards on 12 carries, scoring a touchdown. Quarterback Aaron Philo threw for 196 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 14 yards and a touchdown.
Florida’s win drastically moved them up in the rankings, becoming the eighth-ranked program. They will play the No.25 Missouri Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 3. Two weeks later, they will play the top-ranked team in the country, the Texas Longhorns, who are led by Arch Manning.
Ole Miss also plays Missouri and Texas in the coming weeks. Further down the line, they also have dates with Georgia, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State.
